Innerlight Learning Community

A community to Learn, Grow, and Shine

Children Reading Outdoors

ABOUT US

Innerlight Learning Community provides learners with unique learning experiences in our own community, not typically provided in traditional schools. We offer one on one academic support, in-person, or live online tutoring, workshops, community classes, volunteer opportunities for older learners, collaborative co-op learning, and group adventures. Our guides follow curiosity, not a classroom schedule. We believe young people thrive when they are trusted to explore, create, question, discover, and connect.

Our classrooms go beyond four walls; they are the world around us-nature, neighborhoods, museums, businesses, community spaces, taught by community members that are filled with knowledge and experience. Our world becomes our classroom.

Through the arts, maths, sciences, environmental stewardship, community connections, life skills, and real world experiences, we nurture the whole person. Come join us by taking a class, joining a community event, signing up for academic support, or voluteering in our community!

OUR PROGRAMS

Our programs include workshops lead by expert guides, volunteer opportunities, outdoor exploration, community classes, meet-ups, online learning opportunities, and 1:1 academic support sessions.

Inclusive learning
Environment

Neurodivergent and neurotypical learners are always welcomed here.

We carefully choose educators that have experience working with young people of all backgrounds, and abilities, so the environment is always inclusive, empowering, and welcoming.

Collaborative Learning

Supporting Emotional Well-being

Our teachers are learners too! They are viewed as guides, and are always exploring with our learners. We encourage both young people, and adults to lead classes for others to join in on. We follow curiosity, not lesson plans. We don't teach at kids, but with kids.

Future Forward

Optimizing Learning Environment

We believe that life skills, career exploration, and options for 1:1 academic support are three important things missing from traditional learning environments. We have teachers that offer tutoring, and academic support, so no learner is ever left behind. We also have guides that can be assigned to the older students to teach life skills, college readiness, and career exploration.
